Good Doggie - Sasha Still

“Good Doggie” Synopsis

In “Good Doggie”, a loveable house-dog is home alone when an unwelcomed visitor sidesteps the alarm system and squeezes in through the doggie door. Unwittingly befriended by the intruder, manʼs best friend follows him around the house as he helps himself to loose lying valuables. Everything appears to be going the burglarʼs way, until he sets his sights on one object in the house that is definitely off limits. Our normally docile, four-legged hero must now find a way to protect the homeʼs treasures.

Rise of a Humane Society Rescue Dog, a Once Forgotten Dog Goes from Animal Shelter Cold to Super Bowl Gold

Sasha the rescue dog’s performance in Doritos® commercial contest entry propels her “Good Doggie” video into the Top 10 on the “Crash the Super Bowl” website.

San Diego, CA – Sasha, an abandoned dog spending her days at the Humane Society, didn’t seem to have much chance of being rescued. She was past the cute puppy stage, and as animals get older, the odds of being put to sleep increase dramatically. Nobody would have guessed that Sasha would go from the lonely shelter life to potentially being seen by more than 100 million viewers, starring in “Good Doggie,” a TV commercial shot for the Doritos® Crash the Super Bowl contest.

How did she get there? Sasha’s adoptive parents answered a casting call for a “very special dog” put out by Endi Entertainment director De Veau Dunn and producer Nicholas George for “Good Doggie.” Not only did Sasha have the body language of a pro, she seemed to enjoy holding a Doritos bag in her mouth. Sasha also loved to engage in paw play and could intensely stare down the bad-guy, human actor as if she were Clint Eastwood in a classic Western. Sasha won the part, along with the hearts of the production crew.

In her new gig as an actress, Sasha lights up what has become one of Doritos’ strongest 2012 Super Bowl commercial contenders. So far “Good Doggie” has made the top 10 most-viewed videos out of nearly 4000 on the Crash The Super Bowl website.

“We’re really excited about what’s happening with the video,” said Dunn, “but it’s more valuable that Sasha’s life has brought attention to the urgent need for dog adoption. There are a lot of dogs and cats that don’t get rescued, especially if they’re not puppies or kittens anymore. They really need our help.”

A group of animal adoption supporters have asked permission to publish Sasha’s story on their site, http://www.SaveaDogDay.org featuring Sasha as “spokes-dog.” It introduces the Save a Dog Day organization, which is dedicated to publicizing the success of rescue dogs and the animal lovers who support them. Save a Dog Day’s main goal is to establish a national day of recognition dedicated to supporting animal rescue programs, encouraging volunteering at animal shelters and the humane society, as well as bringing awareness to this growing problem.

The question is, will the rescued “underdog” Sasha go from the animal shelter cold to Super Bowl gold in this years Crash the Super Bowl competition? That will ultimately be up to the judges and the public.
